Intercessions are sought when individuals or communities ask for the prayers or intervention of a higher power, such as a deity or spiritual figure, on behalf of themselves or others. This act of seeking intercessions is often done in times of need, distress, or difficulty, when individuals feel they need additional support or guidance beyond their own efforts. It is a way of reaching out for help and seeking the assistance of a higher power in addressing specific concerns or challenges. Intercessions can be sought in various religious and spiritual traditions as a way of seeking divine intervention and support. **

Good intercessions are prayers that are sincere, heartfelt, and selfless. They involve asking for blessings, guidance, and protection for others, rather than focusing solely on personal needs. Good intercessions also demonstrate empathy and compassion for those in need, and show a willingness to stand in solidarity with others in their time of need. Ultimately, good intercessions seek to bring comfort, healing, and support to those who are struggling or facing challenges. **

Intercessions should be long enough to cover the important needs and concerns of the community, but not so long that they become burdensome or lose the attention of the congregation. A good guideline is to keep intercessions to around 3-5 minutes, allowing for a few specific intentions to be mentioned and for the congregation to have time to reflect and pray for each one. It's important to strike a balance between being thorough and being concise in order to keep the intercessions meaningful and engaging for the community. **
